The National Union of Journalists (NUJ) has shortlisted 8 candidates in the election to replace Tim Gopsill as the £50,000-a-year editor of the union’s magazine The Journalist.

    It's that Glastonbury time of year. This is my dad It's that Glastonbury time of year. This is my dad's van and my mate Pat @punk_dreams there about 1985. Instead of being there this year I was at a motorcycling festival with proper toilets and hot showers. 

But I didn't used to be this dull.
    The unsung heroes of @adventure_bike_rider festiva The unsung heroes of @adventure_bike_rider festival were these two: Simon and Lisa Thomas. They ran the Harley-Davidson tent, where world riders came to be grilled by the audience. This was a brilliant foil to the Tenere tent where riders did scripted and power-pointed presentations.

They worked phenomenally hard and yet always seemed bright and cheerful and made it a fantastic tent to visit. I can't thank them enough for making it a great weekend.

In the evening, when this pair finally got a rest, the tent became the folk stage, which was the best place to be to see original music.

Both the stages worked really well but coaxing the human side out of people added to their formal presentations on the other stage.

So thanks ABR and thanks Simon and Lisa.
