Banks may not be lending much money right now but I certainly am. I reckon by the end of this week I will have about £28,500 of invoices outstanding. That is my business lending money to other businesses. And interest free. Continue reading →

    Happy Burns Night. This pic, taken by my neighbour Happy Burns Night. This pic, taken by my neighbour, has so much treasure hidden in it. The solid wood lampshade made by my mother and the rocking chair given by a friend for introducing him to his future wife are just two of the more obvious.

As my guests tonight (who all read Burns in their best Scottish accents) did not believe me when I said this was a Burns quote, I leave you this from the great Scottish Bard:

    Aswad at the Jazz Cafe. Mesmerising still at times Aswad at the Jazz Cafe. Mesmerising still at times but also a bit like a covers band doing a really thorough job. Only one person left since 1976. Makes us want to watch Babylon (the film) again though.

I started with two vowels in my first seven letters and I had two vowels in my final seven letters. The rest of the game I only had one or no vowels. A low scoring game but some good tile play.

Ultra competitive: You would not believe how many words of mine they (guess which one - clue: she used to be a teacher) got the dictionary out to challenge, only proving me correct. 

I am the scrabble "czar" (one vowel, in the Scrabble dictionary, on a triple word score, next to the first two letters of another word - 50+ points).
